Republican senators gathered in the Library of Congress to have an extended discussion and strategy session about the budget reconciliation process that is dominating conversations in Washington. I asked my colleagues two specific questions: In all of this massive bill, what will be its biggest legacy? What bold, transformational policies can we champion that will impact the next generation of Americans — policies we’ll still be talking about 10, 20, even 30 years from now?
This legislation makes it possible for all U.S. international bridges and land ports of entry along our borders to qualify for a streamlined presidential permitting process. By reducing bureaucratic red tape to secure federal permission for bridge improvements, the bill paves the way to modernize and enhance our trade corridors in support of our international economy.

The Sketch Files collection is an eclectic mix of items, including sketches, surveyor reports and statements, field notes, correspondence, court judgments, and other records relating to original surveys and boundaries. It includes 8,122 unique records dating from the 1830s to the present. It is also an active collection, which means surveyors continuously create and submit new material for the GLO Surveying Services Division to file within the collection
A few Democratic officeholders, activists, and pundits are finally coming to their senses that their brand is toxic to a majority of the American people. The Biden administration killed what was left of it in a number of ways. First, it serially lied to Americans about the cognitive decline and cancerous condition of President Joe Biden, both while in and after office. Only when caught did the complicit media fess up that the Biden inner circle serially misled the American people about Biden's inability to fulfill the duties of the presidency.
“American energy has the ability to metaphorically – and literally – power the world, and Texas is the lead exporter of U.S. Liquified Natural Gas. Those achievements have been under attack by fringe environmental groups who use, and are enabled by, politicized courts," said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, as he fellow Texans Sen. John Cornyn & Cong. Wesley Hunt introduced the "Protect LNG Act" to ensure a court cannot vacate a previously authorized LNG Permit.
“One of my key priorities is Youth Development & Workforce Readiness,” said Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. "This camp will support and promote young agriculture leaders and is exactly the kind of opportunity we should be creating – I look forward to seeing it grow," Miller said, announcing his support and endorsement of the first-in-Texas Future Farmers of America (FFA) Auctioneering Camp.
The State of Texas offers several pre-paid or tax-advantaged College Savings options such as "529 Plans" – authorized by Section 529 of the IRS Code – and, “Families will find that when it comes to planning for their children’s future education, starting early is key and every little bit adds up,” said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, encouraging Texas families to save for their children’s higher education expenses.
SERIOUSLY: Is there a place in the country better off because Democrats have control over the Local or State Government? I mean, if getting pregnant so you can have an abortion is your hobby, Chicago or Boston are OK – but not if you don't want to be robbed or shot. And if you want to get your kid an education, forget about it. There's nothing Democrats can’t ruin – and there's nothing even potentially good they don't ruin.
As Americans increasingly come to appreciate efforts in D.C. to reverse Joe Biden’s long list of burdensome and arbitrary regulations, Texas State Senator Tan Parker is leading a push in the Lone Star State urging Congress to pass laws like the "FIRM Act" – an effort to ensure innocent law-abiding customers are not ensnared by unfair and onerous directives from the Federal Government.
Preventing a looming tax hike by renewing and locking in the Trump Tax Cuts of 2017, Cutting taxes on Tips, Overtime & Auto Loan Interest so hardworking Americans can keep more of their paycheck, Providing meaningful tax breaks for retirees, Canceling Joe Biden’s radical EV Mandates, and Restoring order at our nation's Southern Border – these just a few of the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” highlights. And there's more...
Ports of Entry and International Bridges along the nation's Southern Border are vital to the economic success of the country's border communities, border states – and play a crucial role in supporting trade, business & tourism across the nation. Yet the construction of new border crossings have too often been held up by the Presidential Permitting Process. Senators Ted Cruz & Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) aim to change that.
Gov. Greg Abbott was sworn into the newly created FEMA "Review Council" Co-Chaired by Homeland Security Sect. Kristi Noem & Sect. of Defense Pete Hegseth earlier today. In order to streamline and revamp the nation's emergency response efforts and effectively assist communities, President Trump created the council in January to recommend changes to the troubled Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Twelve Harmony Public Schools campuses located across the state of Texas were recognized as National Schools of Character on Thursday, May 22. The awards were announced by Character.org, a national advocate and leader for character development in schools. Each year, Character.org certifies schools and districts at the state and national level that demonstrate a dedicated focus on character development, student behavior and school climate.
President Trump’s move to put the screws to Harvard’s federal funding isn’t just solid policy, it’s moral clarity. And, it’s Long-Overdue Accountability. This past week Trump ratcheted up the pressure, citing five damning reasons drawn directly from Harvard’s own Internal Investigation – anti-Semitic harassment was not only tolerated, but systemically swept under the rug. As bad as that was, it’s just the start.
Last November, 77 million Americans demanded change, and this vote – where House Republicans united to pass the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" – will go down in history as "Promises Made, Promises Kept." It reverses four years of failed Democrat policies, restores U.S. energy dominance, delivers vital support to farmers & ranchers, will securing historic tax cuts for hardworking families, and reins in government spending.
HB 2674, authored by State Representative David Cook and sponsored in the Senate by Senator Brent Hagenbuch, affirms and strengthens the legal protections that shield Texas homeschoolers from bureaucratic overreach. The proposed law would prevent state agencies such as the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the State Board of Education (SBOE) from creating or enforcing their own regulations on homeschooling.
The Biden-Harris White House abdicated its duties to secure the homeland and created the Border Crisis. Thankfully, Gov. Abbott stood up 'Operation Lone Star' to fill in the gap, defend the border, and keep Texans as safe as possible – at a cost of over $11 billion to Texas. For months I’ve worked on legislation to reimburse Texas for those costs, and am proud to announce that the House Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill does just that!
