Republican senators gathered in the Library of Congress to have an extended discussion and strategy session about the budget reconciliation process that is dominating conversations in Washington. I asked my colleagues two specific questions: In all of this massive bill, what will be its biggest legacy? What bold, transformational policies can we champion that will impact the next generation of Americans — policies we’ll still be talking about 10, 20, even 30 years from now?

This legislation makes it possible for all U.S. international bridges and land ports of entry along our borders to qualify for a streamlined presidential permitting process. By reducing bureaucratic red tape to secure federal permission for bridge improvements, the bill paves the way to modernize and enhance our trade corridors in support of our international economy.

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Chris Broom to the Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Committee for a term set to expire on September 1, 2027. Chris Broom is the vice president of Commercial Training Solutions for Boeing Global Services. He previously worked for American Airlines as managing director of the Flight and Training Administration. A few Democratic officeholders, activists, and pundits are finally coming to their senses that their brand is toxic to a majority of the American people. The State of Texas offers several pre-paid or tax-advantaged College Savings options such as "529 Plans" – authorized by Section 529 of the IRS Code – and, “Families will find that when it comes to planning for their children’s future education, starting early is key and every little bit adds up,” said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, encouraging Texas families to save for their children’s higher education expenses.

SERIOUSLY: Is there a place in the country better off because Democrats have control over the Local or State Government? I mean, if getting pregnant so you can have an abortion is your hobby, Chicago or Boston are OK – but not if you don't want to be robbed or shot. HB 2674, authored by State Representative David Cook and sponsored in the Senate by Senator Brent Hagenbuch, affirms and strengthens the legal protections that shield Texas homeschoolers from bureaucratic overreach. The proposed law would prevent state agencies such as the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the State Board of Education (SBOE) from creating or enforcing their own regulations on homeschooling.

The Biden-Harris White House abdicated its duties to secure the homeland and created the Border Crisis. Thankfully, Gov. Abbott stood up 'Operation Lone Star' to fill in the gap, defend the border, and keep Texans as safe as possible – at a cost of over $11 billion to Texas. For months I’ve worked on legislation to reimburse Texas for those costs, and am proud to announce that the House Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill does just that!
