Reports indicate that many absentee Texas House Democrats have solicited or received funds to evade conducting legislative business and casting votes. Under the Texas Penal Code, any of those Democrats who solicit, accept, or agree to accept such funds to assist in the violation of legislative duties or for purposes of skipping a vote may have violated bribery laws. Also, it could be a bribery violation for any other person who offers, provides, or agrees to provide such funds to fleeing Democrat House members.
Even though the Biden administration is gone, the damage it caused lives on, especially in the courts. Radical judges, many of them appointed by Biden and even Obama, are now the frontline of resistance against President Trump’s agenda. These unelected activists are blocking deportations midair, shielding violent criminals, and openly defying the Constitution to undermine the will of the American people.
Employees at the Railroad Commission of Texas demonstrated remarkable generosity and community spirit by raising $9,695 to support relief efforts for those impacted by recent flooding in Central Texas. The fundraising campaign engaged the agency’s statewide employees who made voluntary monetary contributions. The funds raised will go directly to the nonprofit partners currently providing rescue, relief and recovery assistance in the areas hardest hit by the natural disaster.
Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.19 billion in July, 4.9 percent more than in July 2024. The majority of July sales tax revenue is based on sales made in June and remitted to the agency in July. Total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in July 2025 was up 4 percent compared with the same period a year ago. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state budget, accounting for 58 percent of all tax collections.
When CNN is comparing Democrats to a “hoarder’s basement” and flatly saying their “image is garbage,” something tectonic has shifted. No, that’s not hyperbole. That’s the direct quote from Harry Enten, CNN’s own data analyst, who—God bless him—finally told a sliver of the truth. He looked at the Democratic Party's current state and couldn't resist calling it what the rest of America already knows it to be: a broken, festering, overflowing disaster of dysfunction and decay.
“Real Texans don't run from a fight – but that’s exactly what Texas House Democrats just did," said Gov. Greg Abbott, warning of the numerous & potential legal consequences for the 50-plus Democrats who've fled to Chicago, Boston, or Albany, New York. “They’ve shirked their responsibilities under the direction and pressure of out-of-state politicians and activists who don’t know the first thing about what is right for Texas,” said House Speaker Dustin Burrows.
For months former CIA Director John Brennan was on “Morning Joe” and other outlets spinning unhinged conspiratorial rants by using his former position to suggest much more would be divulged – yet he admitted to Special Counsel Investigators there'd been “no conspiracy” of Russian "collusion" to help Donald Trump in the 2016 Election. To understand what little regard Brennan has for truth, let's recall a 2020 email uncovered by the House Judiciary Committee.
On the eve of 2016's Election, President Obama's CIA Director John Brennan sent a “Fusion Cell” memo to Mr. Obama summarizing all the most secret intelligence the agency had collected on Donald Trump – and Russia. Brennan’s Nov. 6 Memo concluded: “Putin expected [Hillary Clinton] to win.” But then in early December – as Mr. Trump's stunning victory rocked Democrats to the bone – Obama ordered a "new assessment," and Brennan took the lead.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), joined by Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), and John Boozman (R-Ark.), introduced the SkyFoundry Act of 2025 to establish a drone production facility, SkyFoundry, at the Red River Army Depot (RRAD) in Texarkana, Texas. This bill will allow RRAD to develop, produce, and field drones for the Department of Defense. Companion legislation was introduced in the House by Rep. Pat Harrigan (R-N.C.-10).
During the three-day event, Texans can purchase a wide range of items tax-free, including most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100. Diapers — both cloth and disposable — are also exempt from sales tax, and certain sanitizers and wipes with a drug facts label are tax-free year-round. The exemption applies whether shoppers buy items in stores, online, by telephone or by mail.
Recently, a large group of black youths began pummeling several white adults in downtown Cincinnati. The original altercation apparently broke out between a black and white male in he-said/he-said fashion. But that dispute soon turned into a virtual free-for-all. Numerous male and female black youths sucker-punched a middle-aged woman and a man. Others continued to kick or body slam the victims, who were sprawled on their backs and seemingly unconscious.
Governor Greg Abbott has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to activate State Emergency Response Resources ahead of excessive rainfall that could lead to flash flooding in the Panhandle through the end of the week. The National Weather Service says thunderstorms in the Panhandle could lead to flash flooding across Northwest Texas into the weekend. Texans are urged to monitor local forecast information.
“I made Senate Bill 5 a top legislative priority for the Senate because we refuse to let these rogue retailers exploit loopholes in state law to sell dangerous THC products into our communities. SB 5 has the support of every Law Enforcement Agency in Texas, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Pediatric Society, and many families impacted by this scourge sweeping our state. The Texas Senate passed SB 5 today with Republican & Democrat support.”
U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) introduced the Transparency in Reporting of Adversarial Contributions to Education (TRACE) Act to enhance transparency for parents regarding foreign funding in K-12 schools. The Transparency in Reporting of Adversarial Contributions to Education (TRACE) Act will: Require schools to allow parents the opportunity to review curriculum that has been provided by or purchased with foreign funds.
A new venue, a record number of exhibitors and more than 80 breakout sessions were all part of a new-look package for the more than 1,000 people – including oil and gas and pipeline operators and industry representatives – who attended the Railroad Commission of Texas’ 2025 Regulatory Conference. Guests representing 14 states, including Colorado, Oklahoma, Kansas and New Mexico, plus the District of Columbia were also in attendance.
I can imagine the headline here might upset a lot of people – you’re not supposed to call people ugly – but some people are ugly and everyone knows it. I’m not talking exclusively physically, though that’s a big part. A good-looking woman, for example, can be rendered completely unattractive if she’s stupid, or liberal. The thing about liberal women is, they seem to have deliberately chosen to be ugly.
What is Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard upset about? What was known to John Brennan, James Clapper, to James Comey and others as well. They reversed the opinions & advice of their own Intelligence Officers regarding what constituted reliably sourced intelligence, and fabricated their own "Russian Collusion Analysis." And then, according to the wishes of Barack Obama, they took the lie to the American Public.
Federal marijuana policy in the U.S. has been broken for more than 50 years. It started in 1970 when a Democrat-controlled Congress passed the "Controlled Substances Act" and established "schedules" classifying drugs based on their potential for abuse and/or medical use. In Texas, lawmakers just overwhelmingly passed legislation to expand the Compassionate Use Program, giving more patients access to cannabis-based treatments.
