U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action, and Federal Rights and Congressman Eli Crane (R-Ariz.-02) led a bicameral comment letter in support of a petition by the America First Legal Foundation to require proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections.
Congressman Gonzales (TX-23) urged U.S. Army leadership to consider not only retaining, but expanding, the operational footprint and number of personnel assigned to Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio as part of the proposed merging of U.S. Army North and U.S. Army South into one single "Western Hemisphere Command. "Military City, USA" as the ideal location to add more personnel and operational bandwidth to ensure the success of the upcoming Western Hemisphere Command.
Texas Railroad Commissioner Wayne Christian today joined Select Water Solutions and Mariana Minerals to celebrate the groundbreaking of Texas’ first produced water lithium extraction facility in Joaquin, Texas. Located in Shelby County, the facility marks a major milestone for East Texas energy innovation, harnessing the region’s rich natural resources to support America’s growing demand for critical minerals used in energy and technology manufacturing.
District of Columbia Superior Court Judge Kendra Briggs was quite understanding with the 15-year-old who had pepper-sprayed a man while a friend pummeled him, and while others in her group tried to steal his car. The young perpetrator has had a difficult life, Briggs noted. "I know you are not unfamiliar to trauma," the judge said. "I don't disagree that the trauma you've already suffered in life is kind of how you ended up on U Street that day.
When CNN says the latest polls show Donald Trump's had an INCREASE in his "Approval Rating," when 65% say Democrats should accept Republicans’ clean, non-partisan bill, when 55% say they're “just trying to please their base,” well, it just might be the case that Democrats are losing their messaging war. By every measure, this Schumer Shutdown is a disaster for Democrats – yet they continue to vote against reopening.
After disasters such as Hurricanes, Tornadoes and Flooding – not to mention unforeseen special projects such as Border Security – the last two decades in Texas have proven the need for specially trained "Surge Forces" that can respond to future emergency needs across Texas. The most recent Special Legislative Session saw at least one initiative passed calling for the Texas State Guard to meet the challenge.
Harmony Public Schools is proud to announce that all full-time returning employees will receive a one-time 4% retention bonus this week, recognizing the outstanding dedication and teamwork that continue to make Harmony one of Texas’s top-performing school systems. As a result, Harmony ended the 2024–25 school year as one of Texas’ top-performing public-school systems—both academically and financially.
Anyone who believes Saturday's "No Kings" demonstrations were not organized & largely paid for by left-wing groups hasn't been paying attention. The New York Times claims there's "no evidence" the event was subsidized by billionaire George Soros and others. That's because the underwriting isn't given directly – its filtered through groups that wipe clean the donor's fingerprints, like the Mafia used to launder money.
Governor Abbott noted his declaration in the State of the State address that it is time for Texas to lead the nuclear renaissance. Governor Abbott highlighted that in June he signed House Bill 14 into law, which established the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Office (TANEO) and created a $350 million Texas Advanced Nuclear Development Fund to incentivize the development of the nuclear energy industry in Texas.
It’s extremely disappointing that we are now on day 20, in week three of the Democrats’ reckless and entirely preventable Government Shutdown. Senate Democrats have voted 10 separate times to keep the government closed — making it clear they’d rather put politics ahead of the American people. But on a positive note, oil prices have dropped to their lowest level since early 2021, and gas prices in Texas are well below $3.00 a gallon.
Late last week, on the 17th day of the Government Shutdown, Senate Democrats voted "no" for a 10th time on a clean, non-partisan bill to re-open the government. They own this shutdown — and the pain it's causing. Shutdowns are bad for the American people — that's why I've never voted for one. Senator Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer even went so far as to say last week, "Every day gets better for us."
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) invites employers to apply for the Employer Child Care Solutions (ECCS) initiative. The ECCS initiative offers technical assistance to help businesses meet the child care needs of their employees. Technical assistance through ECCS does not include funding child care financial assistance (subsidies). In addition, the employer will not receive any funding through this initiative.
Yesterday was the “No Showers”... I mean, the “No Kings” rally. A bunch of unlovable, older Americans (by & large,) took time away from cyber-stalking the Social Media people they subscribe to and got a little free sunlight and Vitamin D to fight off the onset of rickets. And for the first time in years, the nation's major liberal cities went from smelling like pot and tear gas, to smelling like pot and tear gas and body odor, because that’s how liberals roll.
U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) introduced The Advancing Research in Nuclear Fuel Recycling Act of 2025. The bill requires the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to carry out a study analyzing the costs, benefits, and risks of recycling the nation’s spent nuclear fuel, especially as compared to interim storage solutions. Sen. Cruz first introduced this legislation in 2024 during the 118th Congress.
At the direction of Governor Abbott, DPS law enforcement personnel, including state troopers, Special Agents, and Texas Rangers, along with Texas National Guard soldiers, will be surged to the Austin area to maintain law and order. This is in addition to the thousands of DPS troopers already stationed throughout the state. DPS' Homeland Security Division is actively monitoring the planned protest in Austin, as well as across the state.
Today marks Day 17 of the Government Shutdown. The Senate still has not passed the House-passed Continuing Resolution, which would reopen the government at previously approved funding levels. I was in Washington this week to advocate for fixing, not fighting. Democrats chose to continue to blocking paychecks & Federal Programs. Each week the shutdown costs our economy an estimated $15 billion in GDP.
On Thursday, Senate Democrats voted for the 10th time to prolong the federal government shutdown. They also voted against funding the military, thereby necessitating that the Pentagon initiate some innovative accounting in order to ensure service members are paid on time. Most commonsense Americans understand that there is no reason paying America's warriors should be held hostage to arcane debates over housing policy.
