Gov. Abbott Announces Semiconductor Innovation Fund Grant to UT-Austin's Quantum Institute

Governor Greg Abbott announced that a Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) grant of $4.8 million has been extended to the Texas Quantum Institute (TQI) at The University of Texas (UT) at Austin for the establishment of QLab, a quantum-enhanced semiconductor metrology facility in Austin. The QLab metrology facility will serve the Texas semiconductor and emerging quantum industries, as well as support academic research.

A Red State Handout Designed to Keep People in Poverty

But everything about any welfare program, especially in a Red state that should know better, should be designed to genuinely help people move up the income ladder, gradually and gently reducing benefits until they don’t need them anymore. Families First, as it is designed now, is the opposite of that. Instead of a hand up, it’s a useless program purposefully designed to KEEP families in poverty. And in a Red State no less.

Senate Unanimously Passes Sens. Cruz, Ossoff Bill to Extend Civil Rights Cold Case Review Board Term

This bill would extend the term of the Civil Rights Cold Case Review Board by four years. The board is tasked with investigating criminal investigations from the Civil Rights Era, led by a panel of private citizens appointed by the President. In 2022, Sens. Cruz and Ossoff wrote and passed into law the Civil Rights Cold Case Investigations Support Act of 2022, which extended the board.
