Their Fighting Spirit is rising, but their Common Sense is in the Toilet. So lets talk about “that hill Democrats are choosing to die on.” What is it exactly that's on that hill? HERE's a partial list – and yes, American's perception of "the hill" differs from theirs. But that difference explains Democrats’ record-low Approval Ratings, so what follows is what today's most visible Democrats are doubling-down on. It's their most cherished positions.
President Trump's Attorney General Pam Bondi recently announced one of the largest drug busts in our nation’s history. The Drug Enforcement Administration seized over 25 pounds (11.5 kilos) of fentanyl powder, nearly 3 million fentanyl pills, and arrested 16 Sinaloa Cartel individuals – including six men in the country illegally. President Trump promised he'd secure the Southern Border, put a stop to the flow of drugs flooding our neighborhoods – and he's doing just that.
“When the power of compounding meets the energy of young minds, we’re not just growing portfolios – we’re fostering the next generation of builders, dreamers, and doers,” said Michael Dell, Founder, Chairman & CEO of Dell Technologies as Sen. Ted Cruz introduced his "Invest America Act" legislation. "This will trigger transformative changes for the financial security – and the personal freedoms, of Americans for generations," said Cruz.
Leftist commentators are panicked. Last week, Donald Trump unveiled a landmark trade agreement with the United Kingdom that was rightfully billed as a “Special Partnership.” But the deal is more than just ceremonial — it’s opening what promises to be a full-scale realignment of U.S. trade relationships around the globe. America’s enemies will play fair, our allies will be prioritized & invited into more profitable, mutually respectful partnerships, and it's not Rocket Science.
There's likely never been a more historic presidency than that of the Biden-Harris Administration – and by far the most consequential crisis they unleashed is the massive number of Illegal Aliens now embedded within our borders. To date Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) has made some 65,000-odd deportations, which over four years means only 1 million – or about 5% of those eligible – will be deported. In fact, there is a better solution.
Texas is constantly looking for ways to make the Lone Star State an even stronger destination for Small Business & Entrepreneurial Growth – and to keep Texas on path to surpass France as the world's 7th Largest Economy. It's sometimes hard to believe. Already a premiere destination for businesses of all sizes, Gov. Greg Abbott officially declared this week "Small Business Week" to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the true engine driving our economy.
I've spent my career fighting for policies that empower, rather than restrict, Texas Agriculture – and today, autonomous equipment, AI applications, and digital farm management systems represent the future of competitive agriculture. These technologies will depend on Wi-Fi 7, which has been demonstrated to double or potentially triple the throughput of the current generation of Wi-Fi. So for the sake of America's food security, we need more innovation in Texas.
Manufacturing loans are already up 74% under President Trump, and doubling the SBA's Individual Loan Limit from $5 million to $10 million will allow small businesses across the country to access capital, to invest in new equipment, hire new employees, and grow their businesses. "Together, we'll continue to drive the 'America First Agenda' forward and create an environment where Main Street is a priority," said House Small Business Committee Chairman Roger Williams of Texas.
For 3½ years my wife Callista served as U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, which has the second largest diplomatic representation of any country in the world next to Washington, D.C. During our time there, we experienced a totally unique sense of universality – and sitting in the diplomatic corps this past Christmas Eve for Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica reminded us how diverse the world is... and how much that is captured in the Catholic Church. This is a fitting tribute to the memory of Pope Francis.
China has placed a premium on overtaking the U.S.’s technological leadership in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Centers. But Texas is doing its part to stop China’s ambitions. We've established ourselves as a top destination for data center development, providing the backbone for these critical technologies, and thanks to our "All-of-the-Above Energy Policies," private companies are even bringing their own resources to large-scale projects. The results have been extraordinary.
From sealing the nation's Southern Border almost overnight, to rooting out theft, fraud & wasteful spending in the Federal Bureaucracy via his Dept. of Government Efficiency (DOGE,) to his latest actions on international trade, “We’re going to do what’s in our purview, what we think we can do – and if Congress thinks it’s their purview, well, that’s on Congress,” said one White House official. President Trump is barreling full steam ahead, “But we’re not going to restrain ourselves.”
A few short years ago it was more common to see a UFO on the Lone Star State's High Plains than a Solar or Wind Farm. But times have changed, and today Texas leads all states in adding utility-scale solar and battery storage to the Electric Grid. The result? A stronger electricity market that's more stable and diversified – and cheaper for Texas' businesses and consumers. Energy demand is rapidly growing in Texas, and the generation of electricity will need to double by 2035 to meet that demand.
Governor Greg Abbott today signed Senate Bill 2, the landmark school choice program that is the largest day-one launch in the country, into law at the Governor’s Mansion in Austin. Hundreds of Texas parents, students, educators, and school choice advocates from across the state joined to celebrate this historic moment as Governor Abbott signed school choice into law to empower Texas families to choose the education pathway that is best for their child.
In the first 100 days of President Trump’s 2nd term, House Republicans have moved forward with our "One Big Beautiful" budget proposal to keep America on the path to prosperity, and have advanced Trump's America FIRST Agenda. Illegal border crossings have dropped to historic lows, dangerous criminals are being deported in record numbers, inflation is easing & energy production is booming as gas prices fall. Here’s what else we’ve accomplished in just the first 100 days.
Since entering office, the Trump White House has effectively secured the border, with encounters of illegal immigrants dropping by 95%. President Trump’s success proves we did not need new laws as Democrats repeatedly claimed last year — we simply needed our laws to be enforced by a president who wanted to protect our homeland. And on Mr. Trump's 100th day in office, our committee convened to vote on our portion of what's now affectionately called “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
It’s times like these that remind me that the Latin root of the words “Senate” and “senile” are the same. Of course all bad Senators aren’t senile – some are just stupid. But sadly, even the stupid ones are necessary because we must keep the Senate in 2026 to make Trump’s second administration a success. We’re going to have a great economy by November 2026. This is our chance to be smart and run up the score. The only way we can lose is if Republicans are dumb. That’s why we should be worried.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced the Universal Savings Account Act, a bill that allows American families to save without the restrictions and penalties associated with traditional tax advantaged accounts. Universal saving accounts (USAs) are tax-advantaged savings vehicles with unrestricted use of funds, allowing participants to save, invest, and withdraw funds for any reason.
“Collections from all sectors grew robustly compared with April 2024, coming in well above the rate of general price inflation," said Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar earlier today, announcing that state sales tax revenue totaled $4.24 billion in April, a 7.1% increase over April 2024. Total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in April 2025 was up 2.9% compared with the same period a year ago. Comprising 58% of all tax collections, sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the Texas budget,
