Last week — after more than four months of Democrats' obstruction — Republicans proudly passed nearly $70 billion in funding for ICE and Customs and Border Protection. These agencies play crucial roles in defending our homeland during mass gatherings. ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations department, for example, received $108.5 million in this package to help combat child trafficking, which is all too common at large-scale sporting events.

Federal Energy Commission Moves to Lower Prices for Americans

Guess what folks: Your Gas & Electric Bills alike have risen more than anything recently because — ironically — the world's largest producer of Natural Gas since 2011 has been hobbled by its own paperwork. If you're guessing that that largest producer would, in fact, be the United States, you're right. BUT, guess whose Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (or FERC as its known in D.C. and to industry followers,) have voted unanimously, 5-0, to streamline the bureaucracy that has been bottlenecking Natural Gas Infrastructure for years, and hamstringing common-sense energy projects with bureaucratic rules? Federal That's right – that would be the United States. Natural gas projects such as pipelines have been repeatedly blocked for years by mountains of red tape, making even simple upgrades to existing infrastructure virtually impossible. The result is less Natural Gas supplied to the market, which of course means higher prices. The problem largely stems from the antiquated rules and price thresholds in FERC’s blanket certificate program 5-0, to streamline the bureaucracy that has been bottlenecking The relief comes from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), which Most Americans have never heard of FERC, but the commission has an outsized impact on your utility bills.

Pfluger: Funding Federal Law Enforcement to Keep Americans Safe

Through the Secure America Act, Republicans are delivering strong border security measures to keep communities safe through the remainder of President Trump's term. This bill invests $70 billion in the Border Patrol agents and ICE officers taking down cartels, stopping human traffickers, and keeping bad actors off America’s streets. The Democrats chose open borders, so Republicans are using reconciliation, the most powerful tool available to circumvent obstruction, to finish the job without them.

Election Security Is Nonnegotiable

The foundation of every strong nation is trust in its institutions and its laws. Trust that the government derives its authority from the consent of the governed. Once that trust begins to erode, everything else eventually follows. Every American, regardless of political affiliation, should be able to cast a legal ballot and know it will be counted accurately. Likewise, every American should know safeguards exist to prevent fraud, abuse, and foreign interference. Secure elections protect every voter, every elected official, and ultimately our constitutional republic.
