FLORES: A Proud Immigrant’s Call to Celebrate Freedom on Independence Day

Every 4th of July, as fireworks burst across the sky, I’m reminded of the promise and possibility that define America. I came to the United States legally, picking cotton & onions in the fields of South Texas — so my story's one of legal immigration, hard work, and a deep love for America that could only happen here.
