Governor Greg Abbott announced that a Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) grant of $4.8 million has been extended to the Texas Quantum Institute (TQI) at The University of Texas (UT) at Austin for the establishment of QLab, a quantum-enhanced semiconductor metrology facility in Austin. Everything about any welfare program, especially in a Red state that should know better, should be designed to genuinely help people move up the income ladder, gradually and gently reducing benefits until they don’t need them anymore. Families First, as it is designed now, is the opposite of that. Instead of a hand up, it’s a useless program purposefully designed to KEEP families in poverty. And in a Red State no less.

In recent years, child safety researchers have noted a rise in the use of machine generated visual models that create highly realistic Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and obscenity. While there is legislation to protect victims from this growing threat, the "ENFORCE Act" would ensure offenders who use generative AI to produce & distribute CSAM or other forms of child pornography are held accountable by making the following changes to the U.S. Criminal Code.
