Governor Greg Abbott today announced the apprehension of 31 illegal immigrant drivers, mostly licensed out of California, along I-40 last week during a one-day, joint commercial vehicle enforcement (CVE) operation by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and federal law enforcement. A majority of the CDLs presented to DPS CVE troopers by those 31 illegal immigrants were issued out of California. None were issued in Texas.
“On this past election day, November 4, 2025, Texas voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition 14 to create the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (DPRIT) with over 68.5% of the vote. Unfortunately, three people jointly filed a lawsuit to stop the will of Texas voters, claiming voting machines were faulty. I urge the court to take expedient action to remedy this legal matter and allow DPRIT to become Texas law.”

Va.) introduced the Upholding a Secure Postal System (USPS) Act to direct the U.S. Comptroller General to submit a report to Congress on nationwide mail theft trends and the security of postal property. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that it has approved the State of Texas’ application and will be granting Class VI Underground Injection Control (UIC) primacy to the state. This approval will give the Railroad Commission of Texas primary enforcement authority for Class VI wells, which are used for the injection of carbon dioxide into deep underground rock formations for permanent storage.
