The TAKE IT DOWN Act, which Sen. Cruz introduced with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), would criminalize the publication of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), including AI-generated NCII (commonly referred to as “deepfake revenge pornography”), and require social media and similar websites to have in place procedures to remove such content within 48 hours of notice from a victim.

Here's an idea for Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy - the co-chairs of DOGE: sell unused or underused assets to the highest bidder. Estimates that federal assets -not including land and minerals - have a market value of more than $8 trillion. Sell buildings, loan notes, furniture, unused land, computers, slices of the electromagnetic spectrum, vehicles, planes, and the like.  This would raise tens of billions of dollars overnight.

With this new benefit, spouses individually eligible to participate in the VLB Veterans Land Loan Program can jointly apply for a loan to purchase the same tract of land. Both spouses must satisfy the program’s loan qualification requirements. Veterans utilizing this new benefit will be able to receive a maximum loan amount of $225,000. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $4.3 billion in November, 4.7 percent more than in November 2023. The majority of November sales tax revenue is based on sales made in October and remitted to the agency in November. Sales tax is the largest source of state funding for the state budget, accounting for 58 percent of all tax collections.

Presidential pardons are absolute, and cannot be overturned by the courts or Congress.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today announced the release of his agency’s A Study on Organized Retail Theft in Texas (PDF), which reflects the findings of a Hegar-led Texas Organized Retail Theft (ORT) Task Force and includes recommendations developed from meetings, interviews and site visits with experts and stakeholders. The ORT Task Force, which includes law enforcement, retailers and policy experts, conducted research, listened to expert testimony and visited retailers as part of its study.
