Governor Greg Abbott today announced MP Materials Corp. will expand its presence in Texas and establish a rare earth magnet manufacturing campus in Northlake that will create more than 1,500 new jobs and represents more than $1.25 billion in capital investment. A Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grant of $12,880,500 has been extended to MP Materials for the development of the campus’ corporate operations.

U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) introduced the Officer John Barnes and Chief Michael Ansbro Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program Expansion Act of 2026. This bipartisan legislation would amend the existing Public Safety Officers’ Benefits (PSOB) program to speed up benefit determinations and extend benefits to additional public safety officers.

The Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program has reached the midway point of its six-week family application window, with more than 130,000 student applications already submitted and more than 2,000 schools signed up to participate. Congress – exercising its Constitutional Authority to set the times, places, and manner of Federal Elections – designated one Federal Election Day, argue Sen. Governor Greg Abbott today directed the Texas Dept. of Public Safety (DPS) to enhance Public Safety & Homeland Security Operations across Texas in response to escalating Mexican Cartel violence that poses a growing threat to American civilians. Gov. Abbott urged Texans currently in Mexico, as well as those with family members or friends traveling there, to closely follow warnings from the U.S. State Dept. amid ongoing security operations, road blockages, and criminal activity across Mexico. 

Presidents are meant to lead on trade and protect our economy, not unelected judges. The Supreme Court of the United States recently blocked a key tariff tool used by President Donald Trump, undercutting executive authority at a critical moment for American workers and businesses. This ruling is deeply disappointing. Chief Justice John Roberts, along with Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch, sided with the Court’s left wing.

The recent Democratic polling for Election 2028 has been posted. There’s a field, although not a very compelling one. Some governors in blue states that people can’t flee from fast enough, progressive twits who can’t speak English all that well, and some would-be moderates hoping to recoup the working classes that broke for Trump and the Republicans in 2016 and 2024. Democrat lawmakers – facing continued & growing pressure from their far-left Socialist-Democrat base – have announced that their latest plan to contrast themselves with Republicans and President Trump will be to hold a counter-rally during President Trump's "State of the Union" address to the Nation this coming Tuesday, Feb. 24th. The "counter-rally" will be hosted by the liberal-left mobilization group MoveOn.org, along with progressive media company Meidas Touch, and other "coalition" partners.

"Texas continues to work around the clock to provide all necessary resources to those affected by the 8 Ball Fire in the Panhandle, and I thank the Trump White House & FEMA for swiftly approving the funding," said Gov. Abbott, adding, "And, thank you to our heroic emergency personnel for their efforts to protect their fellow Texans." As of this morning, the 8 Ball Fire had burned an estimated 13,000 acres and forced evacuation of some 400 homes while over 1,100 were threatened.
