Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Tyler County Hospital, which has been serving Tyler County and the surrounding area since 1950. Home to roughly 20,000 people, Tyler County saw nearly 10,000 emergency room visits last year alone — proof of just how vital this hospital is to our community. America’s roots run deep in small towns with good people, and rural hospitals are the best of them. Yet Democrats are trying to strip away their funding.
Hiring Red, White & You! is a statewide hiring event, hosted by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), that connects veterans, transitioning military members, and military spouses to employers across Texas. TWC and Texas Workforce Solutions will host more than 30 events across the state in partnership with the Texas Veterans Commission and the Texas Medical Center.
Sens. Cruz and Cornyn have established the Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee (FJEC), a bipartisan panel of leading attorneys in Texas, which reviews applications, interviews candidates, and makes recommendations to the Senators to help fill judicial vacancies. Sens. Cruz and Cornyn invite qualified candidates to seek appointment by submitting their resumes and completed questionnaires to both lawmakers’ offices.
Created by staff members who saw a growing need, the pantry offers essential items such as deodorant, toothpaste, soap, feminine hygiene products and gently used uniforms. Located in a private area on campus, it allows students to get what they need discreetly and respectfully. The pantry also serves as a distribution point for food donations collected through CRLP, PTO and student-led drives
Trump wants to talk, not just preen for the cameras or post a statement — he wants the handshake, the eye contact, the deal. He’s signaling to the world that America is still willing to lead, not hide. By saying he’ll stay in Asia longer to meet Kim, he’s doing what real leaders do — keeping communication lines open while keeping the upper hand. It’s unpredictable, sure. Risky, maybe.
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chair of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, and colleagues introduced the Natural Gas Export Expansion Act. The bill expedites the federal approval process for exporting liquefied natural gas (LNG).Sen. Cruz has long been a leader in pushing for American energy dominance and protecting America’s energy workers.
It is incredibly disappointing that we are on day twenty-four of the Democrats' reckless government shutdown, and that Senate Democrats have officially voted twelve times to keep the government closed. While Democrats continue to hold the government hostage, I am still committed to serving you in Congress. This week, I held a town hall, attended the Permian Basin International Oil Show, and continued calling for Democrats to stop the nonsense and open the government.
Senate Democrats have now voted 'no' THIRTEEN times on Republicans' clean, non-partisan government funding bill. Meanwhile, hardworking Americans are suffering the consequences. In Texas alone, Democrats' shutdown is projected to cost $6.3 billion per month, wipe out 4,100 jobs, and force up to 218,000 federal workers to serve without pay. It's time for Senate Democrats to put Americans' well-being first and open our government — today.
Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller today issued a five-point plan to rebuild America’s cattle herd, lower grocery store beef prices, and protect U.S. cattle producers from failed Biden administration policies. These five actions will rebuild America’s cattle herd, stabilize beef supplies, lower consumer prices, and support our nation’s cattle producers.
Democratic candidate for attorney general, Jay Jones, sending text messages to a colleague in 2022 wishing that someone would put “two bullets” in the head of then-Republican Speaker of the House of Delegates, Todd Gilbert. Jones went on to say that Gilbert and his wife were raising their two toddlers to be “little fascists,” that Gilbert was a “POS” whose grave he wished to “piss on,” and that one of Gilbert’s children would die in his mother’s arms. He could be my state’s next chief law enforcement officer.
Today marks Day 24 of the federal government shutdown. The House has already passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the government. Unfortunately, Senate Democrats have refused to act, choosing instead to hold up government funding in exchange for extending costly COVID-era Obamacare subsidies, a policy that should be debated separately, not tied to basic government operations.
Every Day 'Gets Better' for Democrats, Worse for America. For three weeks, hardworking Americans, from our troops and border agents to TSA workers and park rangers, have been caught in the crossfire of a completely avoidable government shutdown. This isn't about healthcare, protecting Americans, or fiscal responsibility. It's about politics, plain and simple. It's Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).
According to the National Weather Service, a storm system will push through the state, bringing with it a threat of severe thunderstorms including large hail, damaging winds, possible tornadoes, heavy rainfall, and flash flooding. Excessive rainfall on very dry, drought-hardened ground may cause water to run off more quickly, therefore increasing the risk of localized flash flooding.
(RRC) hosted senior representatives from four leading Canadian pension funds and five major Canadian banks at its Austin headquarters October 22, to discuss the agency’s role as a global leader in energy regulation. Led by the Honorable Susan Harper, the Consul General of Canada in Dallas, the delegation received an overview of the RRC’s regulatory duties and Texas’ leadership in energy development.
President Donald J. Trump is taking a bold stand against China and unfair trade, and the results are unmistakable. The stock market is soaring, inflation is nearly invisible, employment is holding steady, and American manufacturing is roaring back to life. The same economists who predicted collapse under Trump’s trade policies are now forced to confront an inconvenient truth: the United States is thriving precisely because we chose to fight back.
Regardless of the sector of business you find yourself in, each and every businesses today has effectively become Tech Businesses. From boutique companies run out of a garage, to the ‘Magnificent 7’ global tech giants, the same principle applies: embrace new ways to enhance efficiencies, solve problems, and reach new customers or fall behind. Here in Texas, our policymakers understand the principles better than most: Keep government small, the Regulation's touch light, Help businesses scale up.
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that an NRG Energy natural gas facility that will be constructed at the existing TH Wharton Generating Station in Harris County has been designated as a qualified project under the Texas Jobs, Energy, Technology & Innovation (JETI) Program. The new, simple cycle 456 MW Natural Gas Facility represents an estimated $360 million NRG capital investment, and “Texas energy powers our state’s booming economy,” said Gov. Abbott.
If anyone still doubts that the Trump Administration is serious about standing up for America’s farmers and ranchers, the latest round of agricultural tariffs should put those doubts to rest. For far too long, our producers have been treated as bargaining chips in a global trade system tilted against them, especially by foreign powers like China, where the playbook has been simple: let America and American consumers take the hit.
