Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) has introduced bicameral legislation to prevent the federal government from imposing burdensome restrictions on how Americans can invest into their self-directed 401Ks. the "Financial Freedom Act of 2025" would prevent overreaching and burdensome restrictions on investments made in a self-directed 401(k) account and prohibits the Department of Labor from limiting the types of investments that self-directed 401(k) account investors can choose to invest through a brokerage window.
President Donald Trump signed executive orders to revitalize the use of coal as an American energy source. The orders signal an end to the Biden/Obama-era coal moratorium and directs federal agencies to encourage coal powered development. “Texas’ power needs are going to increase by 100,000 MW – or 40% – by 2030, according to ERCOT. America has at least 422 years of coal reserves, and we should use every bit of it to provide cheap, reliable energy to consumers.”
Get ready for the crazy train because it’s leaving the station and picking up steam. That’s what Democrats are doing now, having fallen completely out of power. They know they have no argument FOR their policies, so they make arguments AGAINST anything Republicans are trying to do. Simply saying “no” means that they absolve themselves of any responsibility, which only really flies with people you obey without question – very good dogs willing to do whatever they are told. In other words, Democrat voters.
Early last week I had the privilege of hosting Larry Calhoun from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative for a conversation with Small Business Stakeholders from TX-17. This timely discussion came just days ahead of President Trump's reciprocal tariffs announcement, and provided a valuable opportunity for local businesses to gain some insights into what’s ahead. It’s critical our best Job Creators & Entrepreneurs are part of the conversation.
There isn’t one single Democrat who's spoken out in favor of deporting illegal aliens – let alone criminal illegal aliens. And not one single Democrat's celebrated any of the theft, fraud, or unaccounted for bureaucrats found by Trump's & Musk's DOGE efforts. Drug dealers? Check. Degenerate fathers? Check. Mentally ill degenerates in general? Give them a “day of visibility”! Illegal aliens? Why, they’re better than actual Americans, Democrats believe. These people are disgusting – and none of this is by accident.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar is reminding the Lone Star State's business owners that April 15th is the deadline to file Property Tax Renditions with their County Appraisal Districts, and that different deadlines apply for certain regulated property. A rendition allows property owners to record their opinion of their property’s value, and if property was damaged by storm, flood or fire last year, could lower an owners’ final tax bills for 2025. Here's how...
China is doing everything it can to take the lead over the United States – from Technological Innovation, to Military Capabilities – and the results of this race between our countries will determine how the world looks for decades to come. America is built on the principles of Freedom, Entrepreneurship & Individualism. China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are based on Censorship, Surveillance & Control. China can not be allowed to win.
"Texans expect us to pass more property Tax Relief and Border Security Funding," said Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, adding, "They expect us to pass legislation to reduce crime, keep criminals behind bars with bail reform, protect children and enact school choice, put prayer and the 10 Commandments back in schools, pay our teachers like the professionals they are, and stop illegal immigrants from voting while creating new jobs and strong business climate."
U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) introduced the Facilitate Lower Atmospheric Released Emissions (FLARE) Act. By promoting on-site energy generation, the bill decentralizes electricity sources and strengthens grid resiliency during periods of high demand or extreme weather. The Facilitate Lower Atmospheric Released Emissions (FLARE) Act makes permanent the 100% bonus depreciation for equipment used to intake natural gas and transforms it into electricity, and other productive uses.
Month after month, the Trump administration continues to prove that deterrence works. In March, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reported a historic low of approximately 7,180 illegal border crossings — a dramatic reduction from the monthly average of 155,000 during President Biden's tenure. As someone who has worked on border security issues for more than 25 years, I have never seen crossings this low. This 95% decrease is a testament to the dedication of our brave border patrol agents and to President Trump’s strong immigration policies.
Governor Greg Abbott today issued a proclamation announcing Tuesday, November 4, 2025 as the special election date to fill the 18th Congressional District seat vacated by the late Congressman Sylvester Turner. Candidates who wish to have their names placed on the special election ballot must file their applications with the Secretary of State no later than 5:00 PM on September 3, 2025. In a glorious 1-2 punch of Constitutional vindication, the U.S. Supreme Court just handed President Trump a 2-0 win, one of which should have every America-hating, open-borders cheerleader choking. Yes, the SCOTUS just greenlit Trump’s use of a 1798 Law to deport Foreign Gang Members — the fellas who rape, murder, and traffic women & fentanyl with zeal while wearing face tattoos. Let’s be crystal clear: this isn’t just a Trump Win, it's a Common Sense Win.
For too long, foreign nations have taken advantage of weak U.S. trade agreements – offshoring our jobs, crippling supply chains, and eroding the backbone of the American Middle Class. That ends now. By declaring foreign trade abuses a National Emergency, President Trump's putting an end to that exploitation with his Executive Order to impose new tariffs and defend American jobs. Friday's jobs report for March blew expectations out of the water – adding nearly double the pace of January & February – and the private sector is surging.
“Today’s lawyers have a role to play – by getting involved, the next generation will restore law and order in Texas and across the nation,” said Gov. Greg Abbott, drawing attention to Texas' 15th Court of Appeals which provides swift resolutions for complex commercial disputes in Texas. The event, moderated by UT Austin interim President Jim Davis and Texas Federalist Society President Jordan Lamb also discussed Texas’ historic border security mission, Operation Lone Star.
As a veteran – as well as the President & Founder of Texas’ first addiction recovery based hospital – I have some concerns for the unintended consequences of banning all consumable hemp in Texas. Senate Bill 3 in the Texas Legislature may be well-intentioned, but it poses serious risks to public health and safety for Texas Veterans and the public.
Methane emissions in Texas continue to decline in top oil and natural gas producing areas across the state, according to a new analysis released today by Texans for Natural Gas. No where was this more apparent than in the top producing region in West Texas and the nation, the Permian Basin.“Thanks to constant innovation and improvements in production processes, the oil & natural gas industry is making incredible progress protecting the environment,” said Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association.
Let me say up front – I do not know if President Trump’s tariffs will accomplish his purposes or not. But, tariffs are common in human history. Some tariffs, in some places, and at certain times, have had some benefits to a country’s economy. Other tariffs have been utter disasters. Countries have often used tariffs to protect their domestic industries, and have done so with success. Trump’s tariffs? Only time will tell if Mr. Trump can get the fair trade he wants – which would benefit all nations.
"Chairman Brad Buckley and the members of his committee worked around-the-clock to hear public testimony that lasted for nearly 24 hours. I thank them, as well as Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Speaker Dustin Burrows, and Chairman Brandon Creighton, for their tireless work to empower Texas parents and students by providing school choice. I look forward to its swift passage in the Texas House and signing this bill into law.”
