2-Part Series: Hilderbran to Push for Texas Small Businesses Tax Relief

TexasTexas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Theres plenty of polls saying it would be very popular  to repeal the Franchise-Margins Tax ... obviously thats the case I didnt need a poll to tell me itd be very popular to repeal it & Id like to do that" said Texas House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Harvey Hilderbran. But weve got to be responsible and work within the current State Budget to either replace it with another source or prove up that the economy will grow fast enough as a result of that policy change." Thats what is behind all the Tax Reform were doing economic growth. Giving tax cuts and giving tax relief to anyone that would receive more favorable treatment (after the bill passes) than they do today ... these are all the different things were looking at to not only reform the tax code and make it fairer & simpler but also to give relief which means a tax cut" Hilderbran said.

Texas positive business climate including the $1 million Franchise Tax Exemption has helped keep unemployment below the national average and job-creation above it" Hilderbran said. The same thing is true with increasing exemptions said Hilderbran.     The Texas House Ways & Means Committee Chairman filed his bill House Bill 213 to promote Texas small business development by permanently extending a tax exemption for companies that earn less than $1 million a year.
