Buckingham: Legislature's Acting On, Passing Republican Party's Top Legislative Priorities

I look forward to passing more conservative legislation as we continue to show the nation why Texas is an exceptional & conservative state

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas –
This legislative session is in its final month, and I want you to know that we are delivering results for the people of Texas. From acting on and passing the Republican Party of Texas’ top legislative priorities out of the Senate, to passing legislation focusing on the some of the top issues facing Texans such as electrical grid reliability and others- we are steadfast in our efforts to keep Texas the best state to live, work, and raise a family.

When I first ran for the Texas Senate, I promised to support Constitutional Carry, and this week I kept that promise in voting for HB 1927.

This bill would give Texans the right to carry a firearm without a license as intended by the 2nd Amendment in the United States Constitution.

As a former school board member, I believe our children should be taught proper civics and of the founding documents that our government is based on. This week the Senate took quick action and unanimously voted out SB 2026, which ensures that our public school students receive an education which teaches them the foundations of the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the Federalist Papers.

Our students must know what sets the United States of America apart from the rest of the world and why our Constitutional Republic is worth protecting.

Your issues are important to me. We still have a little over three weeks left in this legislative session and there is still plenty of work to do.

I look forward to passing more conservative legislation into law as we continue to show the nation why Texas is such an exceptional and conservative state.
