State Sen. Bettencourt Follows Up on Successful Legislative Session, Announces for Re-Election


In the recently concluded 87th Legislative Session, Senator Bettencourt was an Author, Sponsor, Co-Sponsor, Joint Author or Co-Author on 101 bills passed onto Gov. Abbott’s desk. 

Texas Insider Report: HOUSTON, Texas – Texas State Senator Paul Bettencourt has announced his intention to seek reelection and run to once again represent Senate District 7 in the 88th Session of the Texas Legislature.

In the recently concluded 87th Legislative Session, Senator Bettencourt was an Author, Sponsor, Co-Sponsor, Joint Author, or Co-Author on 101 bills that were passed to the Governor’s desk.  Some of these have already been signed into law.

The Texas Legislature will, at a minimum, be reconvened in a Special Session for the redistricting process as well as any other items which the Governor deems to be a priority. 

Elected to represent Senate District 7 in 2014, Paul Bettencourt currently serves as Chairman of the Committee on Local Government, and also serves on committees for Criminal Justice, Education, Finance, and the Special Committee on Redistricting.
