Christi Craddick Elected Chairman of Texas Railroad Commission

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas Commissioner Christi Craddick was unanimously elected Chairman of the Railroad Commission of Texas during today’s regularly scheduled meeting.

Following her election, Chairman Craddick thanked Commissioner Wayne Christian for his leadership as Chairman for the past year.
 
“Chairman Christian has led this agency through serious rulemakings related to Winter Storm Uri, and I am proud of the work this agency has completed to keep gas flowing in this state.”

And as the upcoming January 2023 Legislative Session is scheduled to begin, Chairman Craddick said she looks forward to representing the agency at the state Capitol.

Her priorities include:
 
  • Securing the agency’s budget for the next biennium
  • Working with the legislature to prevent federal overreach in the state’s most economically important industry, and
  • Continuing to ensure the health & safety of all Texans through responsible regulation of our state’s natural resources

As part of her PREVIOUS efforts to modernize the agency, Craddick has championed an Information Technology overhaul at the Commission, seeking improvements to upgrade the Geographic Information System, increase public access to the agency’s data, and speed up inspections and permitting times.
