On the Supreme Court confirmation hearings and Amy Coney Barrett’s qualifications:
“Barrett is remarkably qualified, she’s been praised by Republicans and Democrats alike. Most Americans… they don’t want a judge they never elected making law and so to have a justice say, ‘I’m going to actually read the law and apply the constitution to it,’ well that’s the type of fairness and decision making you want on the Supreme Court.”
“[democrats] really can’t attack her, she is just too well qualified and too remarkable of a nominee, so they’re going to use the hearings to fear-monger the American public… and so you are going to see them talk a lot about Obamacare and preexisting conditions. At the end of the day, regardless of how the Supreme Court rules we are going to make sure protecting preexisting conditions is the law of the land. It already is for about 275 million Americans, most Texans, and we’ll make sure that’s the case for the rest of America.”
On how a Biden-Harris Administration would destroy the Texas economy:
“Economically, it will be a disaster. Vice President Biden said eight different times he was going to repeal all the tax cuts – so that single moms, so that a family of four in Texas will pay an extra $2,000 a year in taxes, and a small business person will see a 20% increase in their taxes.”
“Obviously, they really just hate oil and gas and we are going to see that attack on Houston’s economy especially. You know they’ve already pledged to ban all fracking on public land, that’s 80% of what we produce in the country… you are going to see Texas’ economy take a major hit… and we’ve got a lot of workers whose jobs are at stake.”
On the Commitment to American GROWTH Act:
“Obviously, they really just hate oil and gas and we are going to see that attack on Houston’s economy especially. You know they’ve already pledged to ban all fracking on public land, that’s 80% of what we produce in the country… you are going to see Texas’ economy take a major hit… and we’ve got a lot of workers whose jobs are at stake.”
“When we cut taxes, and when we designed the tax code so that our businesses could compete anywhere in the world, we saw dramatic growth in paychecks and jobs coming back to the United States. So this bill is our commitment to grow 10 million more jobs… we cannot just rebuild America’s economy to what it was – the best on the planet – we can create even more growth and more jobs.
“That’s what this bill is about, showing the American people that under President Trump, and if we fire Nancy Pelosi and take back the house, this is the type of economic policy you are going to see.”
