CONG. McCAUL: President's Weakness on World Stage 'Emboldening our Adversaries – and Betraying the Nation.'

Working to Make Trump-Era Tax Law Permanent

By Cong. Michael McCaul

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Texas Insider Report) — This week we discovered that the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) spy balloon likely contained American-made parts. As chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I'll be working to stop the export of American technology to China so it cannot be used against the United States.

President Biden should join that effort and start demonstrating strength in the face of the CCP's aggression. Unfortunately, his weakness on the world stage is emboldening our adversaries and betraying the nation.

I discussed all of this and much more in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures here:
Working to Make Trump-Era Tax Law Permanent

Six years ago, under the Trump Administration, Republicans passed the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act (TCJA), legislation that radically transformed the economy, bringing wages that far outpaced inflation, record lows in unemployment, and tax decreases that left more money in people's wallets.

If Congress fails to act soon, 23 different provisions of that tax law will expire after 2025.

That's why I joined the TCJA Permanency Act, legislation to ensure the TCJA stays intact. As Americans today struggle to make ends meet in President Biden's economy, making the TJCA permanent will provide much-needed relief, ensuring families and small businesses will always have a chance to prosper.

Fighting Childhood Cancer

This Wednesday, I recognized International Childhood Cancer Day. Fighting childhood cancer and improving the lives of survivors has been a passion of mine since elementary school, when my friend lost his fight to this heartbreaking disease. That's why I started the Childhood Cancer Caucus when I first arrived in Congress, and I've led the passage of several bills that are working to end childhood cancer in the U.S. and around the world.

It has been the highlight of my career to see lives changed through this work, and I will continue raising my voice on behalf of these children until we've beaten cancer once and for all.
