State Rep. Jetton: Ft. Bend County Outside Houston, the Most Diverse County in America, has Concerns

"We must work together to support those who have been impacted by hatred and discrimination. We must stand against hatred and drive it out of our society."

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – State Representative Jacey Jetton released a statement condemning acts of hate and discrimination against Asian Americans. As a representative for parts of Fort Bend County, the most diverse county in America, Rep. Jetton calls on all Texans to stand against hate and support those being victimized.

“Less than a week ago, I shared a message about the founding of the Republican Party, a party born in direct opposition to slavery,” Jetton said.

“This legacy of opposition to acts of hatred must continue as Asian Americans experience an increase in violence and discrimination. Many of my constituents, and other Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders around the country, have expressed renewed concerns for the safety of their families, their businesses and their places of worship. Fort Bend County, Texas, and this country are made stronger by our diversity.

"We must work together to support those who have been impacted by hatred and discrimination. We must stand against hatred and drive it out of our society."

Jetton released a video with additional remarks on this topic. On March 17, Jetton also Joint-Authored HCR 66, condemning racism against Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders.

Jetton is the son of a Korean immigrant and is committed to the limited government, family values that have long been the foundation of the American Dream.
