Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – San Antonio, Texas - State Senator José Menéndez issued the following statement on racism and prejudice in our State.
Senator José Menéndez released the following statement:
"The most recent anti-Semitic protests in San Antonio and across the State of Texas are racist and hateful. Our city is better than this, and we must stand together against these acts. Also, lawmakers have recently attempted to erase history by initiating inquiries into books that teach about our history.
“These scare tactics towards school districts are disgusting and a threat to our fundamental right to free speech and the rights of our teachers and children in the classroom. Rogue and racist tactics by lawmakers and citizens alike must be held accountable. Together, we must address racism for what it is – racism. Please join me in reaching out to our Jewish brothers and sisters to support them during this time, and call lawmakers to stop threatening our schools and students."
