Cong. McCaul: The JUSTICE Act Represents the Most Significant Police Reform in 25 Years

Congressman Michael McCaul

"The overwhelming majority of officers do an incredible job, and for that we owe those officers our utmost respect and gratitude."

Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Congressman McCaul  co-sponsored the House companion bill to Republican Senator Tim Scott’s JUSTICE Act to enact the most significant police reform in 25 years.

"It is important to recognize that bad police officers represent just a tiny fraction of police forces. The overwhelming majority of officers do an incredible job and for that we owe those officers our utmost respect and gratitude. That being said, there are indeed bad actors and we must call them out and hold them to account as we work to put an end to all forms of police brutality. The JUSTICE Act aims to do exactly that." - Congressman McCaul

What the JUSTICE Act does:
The bill emphasizes de-escalation training and tactics, and would improve hiring protocols to ensure we only hire the finest to serve and protect our communities. Furthermore the legislation bans the use of chokeholds, increases the use of body cameras, adds scrutiny to the use of no-knock warrants, and makes lynching a federal crime.

McCaul Releases Report on the Origins of COVID-19
Congressman McCaul joined Eric Bolling on "America This Week" to discuss his latest report on the origins of COVID-19

"What's said is, by all accounts, 95% of this could have been contained in China had he done that at that time," McCaul said. "[Director-General of the WHO Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus]  didn't alert the world until 18 countries had been impacted by the virus. At that time it was way too late."
