CONG. WEBER: With Leaders Like Elon & Vivek, We’ve Got a Real Shot at Cutting Waste via the Dept. of Government Efficiency

With the support of leaders like Elon and Vivek, we’ve got a real shot at cutting the waste and delivering on the mandate from the American people to restore fiscal responsibility.

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Trump recently announced the formation of a new outside government entity named the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that wiill be spearheaded by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy Dedicated to identifying wasteful spending and expunging it from federal agencies throughout the government, the DOGE’s first task will be to conduct a complete audit of the entire federal government.

Folks, it’s no secret – this country desperately needs bold leadership to restore fiscal sanity in our nation’s capital and pull us back from the brink of a debt crisis that threatens the future of our great nation.

That’s why I’m thrilled that the American people are once again putting their trust in President Donald J. Trump to return to the Oval Office. His bold decision to appoint two of the brightest minds in the business world – Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy – to lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is exactly the kind of innovative, no-nonsense approach we need.

I’m eager to roll up my sleeves and work alongside them to shrink the bloated bureaucracy and rein in the reckless Washington spending that has spiraled out of control.

With the support of leaders like Elon and Vivek, we’ve got a real shot at cutting the waste and delivering on the mandate from the American people to restore fiscal responsibility.

Let’s be clear: Republicans must uphold the principle of fiscal responsibility.

It’s time to go to work.

It’s our duty to rein in the waste and runaway spending that’s driving inflation and ballooning our national debt to nearly $36 trillion.

With President Trump back at the helm and leaders like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy on our side, we’ve got the team to get it done. Together, we can restore the fiscal sanity our nation so desperately needs.

Here are a few places your taxpayer dollars have gone:

  • $500k to study if selfies make you happy
  • $1M to study if quail are frisky if you give them coke
  • $20k to drag shows in Ecuador
  • $80k to ask taxi drivers in Ghana if climate change makes it harder for them to drive
  • $500k for Fauci to create transgender monkeys

While I was in Washington, Team Weber was back home honoring our veterans on my behalf. On Monday, they attended a series of heartfelt Veterans Day events throughout the community, starting with the City of Nederland Veterans Day Celebration and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 929 service event.

Team Weber also had the privilege of attending the dedication ceremony at Port Neches-Groves High School, where the final bricks were installed in a memorial that stands as a testament to our community’s enduring respect for those who served.

Additionally, they proudly participated in the 26th Annual Brazoria County Veterans Day Parade, celebrating our nation’s heroes who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

They also attended the College of the Mainland's groundbreaking ceremony for the new Corporate and Continuing Education Center and the Public Safety Center.

These projects represent a significant investment in our students' futures and the ongoing growth of our community.

They also attended the Greater Houston Port Bureau meeting, where Col. Blackman, the Commander and District Engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Galveston District, provided an update on ongoing projects.

Meanwhile, in Washington, we hit the ground running to prepare for the 119th Congress by electing Republican leadership, voting on the governing rules, and hearing from President Trump about his agenda and our collaborative efforts to implement the America First agenda.

Congressman Randy Weber represents the 14th District of Texas, which includes Freeport LNG, Golden Pass LNG, and Port Arthur LNG. He serves on the House Energy & Commerce Committee, which has the broadest jurisdiction of any legislative committee in Congress, as well as on the House Science Space & Technology Committee, which has jurisdiction over the Department of Energy's, and the EPA's (Environmental Protection Agency) Energy Research & Development Programs, including all Environmental Standards and Research Programs.
