25 House-Passed Jobs Bills Stuck in Democratic-Run Senate

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. The House passed three more jobs bills last week bringing the current number of jobs bills awaiting a vote in the Democratic-controlled Senate to 25. Each of these bills is focused on removing government barriers excessive regulations the threat of tax hikes and stimulus spending policies that are hurting job growth and many have bipartisan support.   House Speaker Boehner has called on President Obama to urge Senate Democrats to immediately vote" on the 25 jobs bills before them. This week the House is scheduled to consider two more including the REINS Act. A Look at Ongoing Efforts by the House to Create a Better Environment for Private-Sector Job Growth:

• The REINS Act (H.R. 10)  Pledge to America legislation and a key part of the Republican Plan for Americas Job Creators  requires Congressional approval of any major government regulation.

• The Workforce Democracy & Fairness Act (H.R. 3094) passed last week stops the Obama administrations National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from circumventing Congress to allow job-threatening ambush" union elections.

• The Regulatory Accountability Act (H.R. 3010) and Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act (H.R. 527) minimize costly red tape and excessive federal restrictions that hurt small businesses.

• NPR says the Entrepreneur Access to Capital Act (H.R. 2930) bipartisan crowdfunding" jobs bill passed by the House in November removes barriers to doing business" for job creators.

• The upcoming Jumpstarting Opportunity with Broadband Spectrum (JOBS) Act would help create jobs reduce our spending-driven deficit and bolster emergency response infrastructure.

• Republicans also identified extending the payroll tax break as a potential area of common ground with President Obamas jobs plan. Republicans believe it must be paid for - without adding to the debt or imposing a job-crushing tax hike on small businesses  so that it does not accelerate Social Securitys looming bankruptcy and do more damage to our economy.

  Failed Stimulus Policies Government Barriers Prevent Job Creation & Long-Term Economic Growth:

• For his part President Obama appears set on more We Cant Wait" executive orders measures that the Associated Press has labeled modest and bureaucratic" and campaign speeches that disregard Republicans efforts to forge common ground on jobs.

• Among the House-passed jobs bills delayed by Senate Democrats: legislation requiring action on the Keystone XL energy pipeline which National Journal cited as just one solution that would help minimize the odds" of future job-crushing energy price hikes.

• Union representatives testified to a House Energy & Commerce Subcommittee that by delaying the Keystone XL energy project the Obama Administration has denied thousands of Americans the opportunity to find work including those in the hard-hit construction sector.

• While its good news that some Americans found new jobs last month nearly three times as many roughly 315000 people  gave up looking for work altogether.

• November was the 34th consecutive month with unemployment above eight percent. Speaker Boehner said the Obama Administration promised that unemployment would not exceed eight percent if we passed their stimulus bill. That promise has gone unfulfilled." Watch him here.
