House Gallery Recognition
When you are seated in the House Gallery I will be honored to publicly recognize your presence by introducing you from the House Floor but please provide the information to my staff in advance . Typically Floor Recognition is given to groups visiting the Capitol.
Capitol Tours
If you will let us know well in advance of your visit we can help you schedule a Capitol Tour that takes about 45 minutes. During the Session the tour groups of 30 maximum participants fill up quickly each day. Larger groups can be divided into smaller tour groups.
House Page Program
The House Page Program for children aged 8-18 takes place during the Session for ½ day in the morning or in the afternoon. Certain forms must be completed in advance by parents. Each Representative is limited to 10 pages during the Session and the House Floor is limited to 10 pages per half day.
As of the present time the ten positions for the 82nd Legislative Session from my District 94 have been filled. However if you are seeking a page position contact our office to put your name on our waiting list.
House Calendars
If you would like to have one of our beautiful 2011 House Calendars you are welcome to have one until our supply is depleted.
House Resolutions
If you need a House Resolution for a momentous occasion such as a 100th birthday 50th wedding anniversary or other such special occasions please provide background information at least 30 days in advance of the date requested.
House Resolutions are read on the House Floor and recorded permanently in the House Journal and a copy of the Resolution is provided to the requestor.
District Certificates
Our office will be glad to accommodate your request for an official District Certificate to recognize a special occasion. Please contact our office at least 14 days in advance of the date requested. The District Certificate provided to the requestor is suitable for framing.
State of Texas Flags
Members of the public can now purchase a Texas flag from the House of Representatives by visiting the following web site: www.flags.house.state.tx.us. Customers can also request that the flag be flown over the Texas Capitol and purchase a customized certificate to commemorate a special occasion or to honor an individual or group. Request at least 30 days in advance.
House Proceedings
You can follow all House Floor Procedures and Committee Hearings live via internet at www.house.state.tx.us Archived proceedings are also available on this website. House Committees usually start meeting around the first of February.
