Bear with me as I approach the subject of Congress from a different angle ... an explanation of the behavior of a few of the wicked addicts in Congress. It appears they are addicted to OPM Other Peoples Money which they spend their time in office confiscating:
restraint are naturally strong. Acting in line with Natures law life is less troublesome and more peaceful though not necessarily exciting.
In the addict the situation is the opposite: intelligence is shut down. The body and mind dictate what happens next and the individuals will is lost.
The whims of the moment reign supreme. Chaos and excitement dominate as does the constant companion of excitement misery.
Certain forbidden activities become habits. These habits are forbidden precisely because of the degrading enslaving influence they exert over the individual the spiritual self.
They create a menace to others in society.
Addiction is an unforgiving mistress; Beyond a certain point it is the downward spiral of a contaminated heart that only gains velocity toward the final collision with reality.
Part of the delusion consists in the mind thinking that he is choosing to do it and that he can quit any time he chooses.
As time goes by however it becomes clear even to him that this is not the case and he even hates himself while he is doing it. Such flashes of sanity occur less and less as time goes by until nothing matters but feeding the habit. But he cant stop doing it.
This is why many cannot understand what drives such derelicts. Their actions defy logic.
This leads me to my explanation of the behavior of a few of the wicked addicts in Congress. They are addicted to OPM other peoples money which they spend either:
to repress other men of propriety and what to speak of an entire caucus or two of them. But creating factions does not induce the joy of following in the people.
And the addicts in Congress devoid of intelligence as they are cannot see how short the period of their influence will be.
There is no fire like the peoples anger. Remember in November.
- By force (tax) from what they consider the masses beneath them and
- Taking as bribes from the wealthy who want exemption from such confiscation.
Our Constitution was made only for a religious & moral people. It is totally inadequate for the governance on any other. We have no government armed in power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality & religion."
After 40 years of study and practice in various spiritual fields here is my metaphysical premise:Character is the quantitative influence of the spiritual self over the body & mind.In a cultivated human being the intelligence is awakened so that the divine in man predominates. Self control and self
