Cap and Balance Act. The Cut Cap Balance Act directly addresses the nations staggering $14.3 trillion debt by immediately cutting spending capping the federal budget and sending a strong balanced budget amendment to the states for ratification.

Americans for Prosperity joined a huge coalition of conservative organizations that have pledged not to support a debt limit increase unless we Cut Cap and Balance the federal budget. The Cut Cap Balance plan requires substantial spending cuts in FY 2012 a statutory spending cap and Congressional passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution as the minimum necessary preconditions to raising the debt limit. The ultimate goal is to get America back to a point where increases in the debt limit are no longer necessary.
