The legislation which has been endorsed by both national and Texas victims-rights groups will help alleviate the massive backlog of untested rape kits as well as toughen sentencing for some of the worst sex offenders who commit crimes against women and children. Sen. Cornyns effort comes in advance of National Crime Victims Rights week which runs from April 22 28 2012.
Senator Cornyn serves on the Finance Judiciary Armed Services and Budget Committees. He serves as the top Republican on the Judiciary Committees Immigration Refugees and Border Security subcommittee.
