Alberto Gonzales Former Attorney General to Speak on Immigration & the Texas Economy

width=83Nations 80th Attorney General appearing at April 8th 2011 breakfast Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Alberto R. Gonzales former Attorney General for President George W. Bush will be the Featured Guest Speaker of the Austin Economic Club during a breakfast event for its 2011 Distinguished Lecture Series on Friday April 8 2011. Gonzales will address the Austin Economic Club at the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin.   As the issue of immigration is & and been one of the steepest challenges facing the State of Texas the nation & U.S. Department of Homeland Security Mr. Gonzales will speak on the issue of Immigration National Security & the Economy". Judge Gonzales served as White House Counsel to President George W. Bush for four years prior to his confirmation as Attorney General at the age of 49. As a son of former migrant workers Judge Gonzales was the nations first Hispanic to serve as Attorney General of the United States when appointed by former President George W. Bush. Mr. Gonzales was with the President on September 11 2011 as he began to formulate the nations response to the terrorist attacks on the United States.  Judge Gonzales attended the United States Air Force Academy and graduated from Rice University and Harvard Law School. His work in the Hispanic community and his achievements as a role model have earned him recognition as Hispanic American of the Year by HISPANIC Magazine and one of The 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America by TIME Magazine. The National Hispanic Bar Association honored him as the Latino Lawyer of the Year. Judge Gonzales currently is a Visiting Professor at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He continues to provide consulting arbitration and mediation services from his office in Austin Texas. He and his wife Rebecca have three sons. width=210The former Attorney General will be introduced by the current chairman of the Texas House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety Representative Sid Miller of Stephenville Texas.
