Ames Jones: We Need Help at the Pump

width=156By Elizabeth Ames Jones Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas As Chairwoman of the Texas Railroad Commission our states energy oversight agency I oversaw one of the most exciting periods in Texas energy history. Texas energy economy is a bright spot in a storm of economic uncertainty. It generates billions of dollars for State & Local Government coffers and bolsters our states education funding and the Rainy Day Fund. I will always work hard to leave Texas better than I found it.   When President Obama took office a gallon of gas was $1.70.  Since then Obama derailed the Canada-to-Texas XL Keystone pipeline and squandered $535 million of taxpayer money in a failed attempt to bailout Solyndra.  Now he wants to raid the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. Mr. President why cant you simply accept the fact we have a Strategic Reserve right below us? We need leaders who will stand up to President Obama and who will stand with Texas business men and women to create jobs.  We need help at the gas pump.  And thats what Ive done. I worked hard as your Railroad Commissioner to keep thousands of Texans working to produce Texas energy responsibly.  We arent the #1 oil and natural gas producing state in America by accident.   Combine the right geology - like the Eagle Ford shale play right in our backyard - with the entrepreneurial spirit that is encouraged by my consistent common sense regulation based on real science instead of radical environmental agendas and you get thousands of jobs created and thousands more width=118barrels of crude oil produced. With state-of-the-art hydraulic fracturing technology Texans are working energy is flowing and Senate District 25 is winning. I will take my energy know-how to the State Senate and put it to work for you! I am the only candidate who is prepared to keep Texas energy engine on track but I need your financial support to get my message out. I will stand up to the drilling naysayers and ensure we responsibly tap the Strategic Energy Jobs Reserve right here in Texas. Drill Baby Drill and Save the Wells!  Jones is former Chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission. Prior serving on the Railroad Commission she was elected three times to the Texas House of Representatives. She is a candidate for the Republican nomination from State Senate District 25 based in San Antonio.
