He says that he sees the campaign as a way to continue his efforts to build and strengthen the Republican Party in McLennan County and Central Texas and to reach out to likeminded Independent and Conservative voters and Tea Party members and let them know that they are needed and will have a voice in our party. I am proud of my record in the Texas House of fighting for lower taxes and in reducing the size and scope of state government" Anderson said.
I am recognized by my colleagues and across the state as a no-nonsense conservative leader who has helped lead the fight to defend our personal liberties protect the sanctity of life defend our second amendment rights help strengthen our schools and fight for less bureaucracy and government control and for more personal responsibility amongst our citizens."
Anderson who was reelected in 2006 2008 and 2010 said that while primary and general election challengers come and go the work of being a strong voice on behalf of the people who live width=117and work in McLennan County and District 56 never ends. While I enjoy campaigning there really isnt much different about campaign season as I travel across our district and visit with voters day in and day out in order to listen to their concerns about the important issues that face Texas and our nation Anderson said." To me being State Representative is more than just a title or the next rung on the political ladder" Representative Anderson said. Instead I believe that it carries with it the sacred responsibility to truly represent the values of the people who sent me to Austin. The only way I know how to do that is by listening to them.  I have done that each and every day since 2004 and I will continue to listen as long as they continue to give me the high honor of being their voice in Austin" Anderson concluded.
