ies XIV-A Request for Applications at
http://www.tvc.texas.gov/Apply-For-A-Grant.aspx. The purpose of this Request for Applications is to seek applications from eligible applicants for reimbursement grants. The current amount available for Series XIV-A is $3000000. Applicants can request a grant from $5000 to $500000. The number of awards made is dependent on the grant amounts awarded.
Grants awarded for Series XIV-A will begin on January 1 2014 and end on December 31 2014. All applications must comply with the Request for Applications (RFA) posted on the FVA website. Applications are due no later than 4:00 PM on Thursday August 8 2013.
The Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) established the following priorities to provide guidance to the FVA Advisory Committee in developing funding recommendations to present to the Commission. These priorities are:
- Outstanding grant applications
- Three priority Service Categories
- Financial Assistance
- Counseling
- Homeless/Housing
- Widespread distribution of grants across the state
- Services should be varied in geographic areas to ensure no over-saturation or duplication of services in areas of the state
