Arise! Shine! Embrace the New Dawn

width=162Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas Although many stodgy establishment" Republicans may not think so Tuesdays election could and should be the beginning of an American political renaissance.  All that is required is for public office holders of whatever persuasion across the nation to adhere to rather than resist the mandate of conservative citizens that has been shown in Texas and elsewhere this election season.   Opportunities abound!  Here are a couple of them:
  1. Build on the foundation created by the victories of Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas senatorial nominee Ted Cruz.  The Republican Party has been negligent and foolish in dealing with the burgeoning and increasingly sophisticated Hispanic voting population. Hispanics have two predominate cultural characteristics which we all would do well to emulate: personal dignity and solid Christian theology.  It would be difficult to find social tenets that fit more nicely into conservative political philosophy.  By overtly welcoming Hispanics into the Party respectfully width=162asking for the Hispanic vote and providing candidates worthy of that vote the Republican Party can accelerate the existing trend toward conservatism among Hispanic citizens.  There is more on this subject in the current issue of The Liberty Cell.
  2. Abandon the whining about the loss of established office holders who know how to compromise and wake up to the peoples demand that governance be returned to consideration of the issues based on their merit. Take a new refreshed look at the wishes of the Tea Party.  One of those wishes has to do with eliminating at least temporarily the custom of adding earmarks" to pending legislation. If all amendments to bills had to be germane to the subjects of the bills under consideration substantive discussion would undoubtedly occur.
  3. A requirement that legislators not spend more than the government has (as determined by projections made by the Department of the Treasury) would certainly create bipartisan debate wouldnt it?
Maybe the Tea Party is not so out of touch after all!  There is much more on these and other width=65recommendations in the current issue of The Liberty Cell. The belief here is that all the Republican Party needs to do is hear and act on what its members are saying with their ballots.  Listening to the people: what a concept!
