- Build on the foundation created by the victories of Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas senatorial nominee Ted Cruz. The Republican Party has been negligent and foolish in dealing with the burgeoning and increasingly sophisticated Hispanic voting population. Hispanics have two predominate cultural characteristics which we all would do well to emulate: personal dignity and solid Christian theology. It would be difficult to find social tenets that fit more nicely into conservative political philosophy. By overtly welcoming Hispanics into the Party respectfully
asking for the Hispanic vote and providing candidates worthy of that vote the Republican Party can accelerate the existing trend toward conservatism among Hispanic citizens. There is more on this subject in the current issue of The Liberty Cell.
- Abandon the whining about the loss of established office holders who know how to compromise and wake up to the peoples demand that governance be returned to consideration of the issues based on their merit. Take a new refreshed look at the wishes of the Tea Party. One of those wishes has to do with eliminating at least temporarily the custom of adding earmarks" to pending legislation. If all amendments to bills had to be germane to the subjects of the bills under consideration substantive discussion would undoubtedly occur.
- A requirement that legislators not spend more than the government has (as determined by projections made by the Department of the Treasury) would certainly create bipartisan debate wouldnt it?
