Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott delivered the keynote address at the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol graduation ceremony for newly commissioned state troopers. During the ceremony, DPS Director Steven McCraw awarded the new troopers their Texas law enforcement commissions.
Attorney General Abbott expressed gratitude to the newly commissioned troopers for their service to the State and praised their willingness to put themselves in harm’s way to protect their fellow Texans.
“After persevering through months of intensive training, these recruits have demonstrated the character to meet – and master – the daily challenges that face a Texas Highway Patrol trooper,” Attorney General Abbott said. “My thanks go out to all of these brave men and women for taking the oath to serve and protect their fellow Texans.”
