Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas The Governors Committee on People with Disabilities has announced the winners of the 31st Annual Barbara Jordan Media Awards for pieces produced in 2013. Winners were chosen by a panel of judges including journalists professionals in the field of disabilities and people with disabilities.
The winners will be honored at the Barbara Jordan Media Awards Ceremony luncheon on Thursday March 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Apogee Stadium on the University of North Texas campus in Denton. The event is hosted by the University of North Texas Mayborn School of Journalism and is open to the public by reservation. Bob Phillips of Texas Country Reporter is the keynote speaker and Joe Bontke chair of the Governors Committee on People with Disabilities will emcee and present the awards.
