Bill Flores Launches Loyalty Ads vs. Chet Edwards in CD 17

ANNCR: Unemployment is up.  Home values are down.  Texas foreclosures up 27 percent just this year. And whats our Congressman doing? Chet Edwards now votes with Nancy Pelosi 96 percent of the time. In Texas were hurting.  And they just waste more and borrow more in Washington.  Theyre making it worse. Chet Edwards loyalty to Nancy Pelosi is too expensive for our families."

The last week of September the Flores campaign began airing its 4th general election television ad entitled Austin Paper" which detailed the Austin American-Statesmans Politifact column analyzing Congressman Edwards attack ads agains Flores as false and Edwards consistent votes with Nancy Pelosi for taxes and spending.  Earlier last week the Flores for Congress campaign launched its 5th general election television ad Texans Deserve Better" which features war hero and former P.O.W. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) refuting recent false charges from incumbent Edwards on Veterans issues.  In the ad McCain says Flores ideas about improving Veterans health care are the same as his own. A general election poll of 400 likely voters taken by On Message Inc. and release September 23 showed Republican Flores leading 20-year incumbent Democrat  Edwards (D-TX) by 55 to 36 with less than six weeks to go.  The margin of error is /- 4.9 percent.

We are very encouraged by the results of this poll and will work harder than ever to bring home a victory over the next 40 days" said Flores at the time. This poll is yet another reflection of the voters rejecting the voting record of Chet Edwards and embracing our message of private sector job creation economic growth and cutting federal spending." The same poll showed Flores winning independent voters 66 to width=7123 presenting an overwhelming to challenge to Edwards campaign. In the same poll the generic Congressional ballot showed CD 17 respondents favoring Republicans over Democrats 53-28 with 20 undecided.
