Bulletin prepared for nationwide distribution next month

Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. From June 21st to July 4th Catholic churches across America will take part in the Fortnight for Freedom described as special period of prayer study … and public action to emphasize both our Christian and American heritage of liberty.
Church leaders are taking this extraordinary action in order to draw attention to concerns over threats to religious freedom.
And the bishops are preparing to go beyond prayer and protests. Taking their inspiration from the civil rights movement Catholic leaders are warning their congregations that civil disobedience may be next.
In a bulletin prepared for nationwide distribution next month church leaders write:
Some unjust laws impose such injustices on individuals and organizations that disobeying the laws may be justified. Every effort must be made to repeal them. When fundamental human goods such as the right of conscience are at stake we may need to witness to the truth by resisting the law and incurring its penalties. …This is a matter of whether religious people and institutions may be forced by the government to provide certain medical services even when it violates our consciences.
Dishonoring Our Heroes
Chances are you have probably never heard of
MSNBC host Chris Hayes. But he got his 15 minutes of fame this Memorial Day weekend for expressing his discomfort at referring our fallen soldiers as heroes. Heres what he said:
Why do I feel so uncomfortable about the word hero? I feel uncomfortable about the word hero because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war. …But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic. But maybe Im wrong about that.
Yes Mr. Hayes you are wrong about that and a whole lot more. As one conservative blogger wrote: This is a man who over and over again has spoken with greater reverence about the Occupy Movement than he did today about our fallen service members.
Hayes is a perfect example of the warped worldview that has infected the left and runs rampant among our media and academic elites. It sees America not as a force for good in the world but as an oppressive force. And so many leftists despise our soldiers. They dont believe that they made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedoms and liberating people in other countries from truly oppressive regimes. Thankfully these folks are just a radical fringe. God help us if their thinking ever becomes the norm.
