Boeing Selects New Breed to Support San Antonio Operations

width=150New Breed Logistics Inc. has received a contract from Boeing Integrated Defense Systems that will allow New Breed to support Boeings site in San Antonio. Boeings San Antonio operations provide maintenance modification and upgrade services for the U.S. Department of Defenses fleet of KC-135 Stratotanker KC-10 Extender C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules. Aircraft maintenance and modification companies rely on logistics firms to supply thousands of individual components to keep a fleet in service. For defense contractors like Boeing supply-chain companies are vital to their operations. High Point N.C.-based New Breed received the five-year contract through an open bid competition. The company has already begun phasing in its parts-support logistics services at Boeings 99000-square-foot facility at Port San Antonio. New Breed is a supply-chain and distribution center operations company that specializes in warehousing and distribution manufacturing support service parts logistics reverse logistics refurbishment and repair procurement services transportation management and supply-chain consulting. New Breed already supports a number of Boeing civilian and defense aviation programs including the 787 Dreamliner the Boeing Commercial Airplanes spare parts program for the eastern portion of North America as well as all of South and Central America. In 2006 Boeing named New Breed its 2006 Supplier of the Year. Boeing Integrated Defense Systems is a unit of The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) in Chicago.
