The second drug misoprostol can now be taken without a second visit to the physician. The Food & Drug Administration (FDA) changed the labeling and procedures for mifepristone the abortion pill also referred to as RU-486" and Mifeprex."  This drug was first approved at the end of the Clinton Administration (September 2000) to abort post-abortionunborn children up to 49 days into pregnancy (7 weeks) and required that mifepristone be taken under the supervision of a physician.
