BRADY: Paul Ryans House Budget Puts U.S. Back on Track

A path to a balanced budget cuts wasteful spending By Kevin Brady kevin-brady3Texas Insider Report: Washington D.C. No one ever claimed that creating and following a budget is fun but families in America know that its the best way to run a household. Washington shouldnt be any different especially when you consider that the money spent in D.C. belongs to the people and that the federal government is merely a steward of those hard-earned tax dollars. Unfortunately not everyone in Washington takes budgeting as seriously as the tens of millions of American families and businesses have to in order to make ends meet. Instead the status quo is reckless deficits and endless borrowing from countries such as China. The nations economy is harmed by these actions and millions of Americans are suffering needlessly. Too many are unemployed or underemployed or struggling to put food on the table send their kids to college or simply put gas in the car. The House of Representatives has consistently passed a budget that puts America back on a path to a balanced budget cuts wasteful spending and shores up important programs such as Social Security and Medicare. kevin-brady4Unfortunately these bills have never been taken up by the Senate. In fact the Senate has failed to produce their own budget over the last 1400 days. Under threat of not receiving their paychecks unless a budget is produced the Senate is working on one right now. However their budget requires a tax increase of around $1 trillion! And it never balances. Ever. Out of the five times that the White House has been responsible for producing a budget theyve been late 4 times. And now weve been told that the 2014 White House budget that was due in February probably wont arrive on Capitol Hill until Easter. Maybe. But the fiscal year 2014 House Budget released by Chairman Paul Ryan this week gets America headed back in the right direction.  It balances the budget within 10 years and promotes a pro-growth agenda that will get our economy moving again.
  • The Keystone XL Pipeline will be approved creating thousands of jobs.
  • The job-killing Affordable Care Act will be repealed and then replaced with patient-first reforms.
  • The confusing tax code will be reformed giving relief to the millions of American families and small businesses that have to pay for professionals to do their income taxes.
  • And welfare reform will help individuals get off of the government welfare rolls and receiving a paycheck again.
These common-sense measures will put our nation back on a sustainable path of economic growth and job expansion freeing all to once again pursue the American dream. Cong.
