If you like your doctor you will be able to keep your doctor period.
WASHINGTON D.C. (Texas Insider Report) When someone puts the word period" at the end of a sentence thats supposed to mean theres nothing else to add. But millions of American families found out this year the Presidents promise simply wasnt true. They learned their plans had been cancelled and their doctor was not in their network" said Texas Cong. Kevin Brady Chairman of the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee after the House earlier today passed legislation to allow families to keep the health plans they have and like.
While the President has tried to explain away his oft-repeated promise House Republicans are acting to ensure that Americans actually continue to have the right to keep their trusted doctors and their health plan" said Brady.
In an effort to protect Americans from the negative consequences of the Presidents Affordable Care Act the U.S. House earlier today passed The Employee Health Care Protection Act to grandfather plans that were available in the group market in 2013 and allow health insurance
companies to continue to offer these plans to the public outside of the insurance exchanges through 2018.
House Republicans attempts to allow families who purchase health care through a group market to keep the plan they have and like is unlikely to be passed in the democratically controlled Senate where Sen. Harry Reid continues to stall on more than
340 bills that are awaiting action on the Senate doorstep.
President Obama told the American people If you like your doctor you will be able to keep your doctor period.
If you like your health care plan youll be able to keep your health care plan period" said Brady.
Late last year the House also passed the Keep Your Health Care Plan Act a similar measure which allows the millions of Americans who purchase their health insurance through the individual market to also keep the plan they had and liked.
Continued Brady Well continue to fight to repeal the Presidents health care law and replace it with patient-centered cost-saving reform that makes health care more affordable and more accessible."
