The Center for Immigration Studies director of policy studies Jessica Vaughan pointed to the recent Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) settlement that awarded $350000 to 11 illegal immigrants in New Haven CT and terminated their deportation proceedings after the individuals were arrested in the sanctuary city." Vaughan explained to The Daily Caller that the Obama Administration chose not to defend the actions of its agency in doing its routine job" and chose instead to reward amnesty. Likewise Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) spokesman Bob Dane says that the Obama Administration has de-emphasized" immigration enforcement in non-border areas and that theres massive amnesty occurring behind the scenes."
