Washington DC – U.S. Rep John Carter (TX-31) issued the following statement today in honor and remembrance of the seventh anniversary of the September 11 2001 terrorist attacks:
“Today we bow our heads in prayer to remember the thousands of innocent Americans who were killed by a group of vicious terrorists on September 11 2001. We remember the courageous police officers and firemen who rose to the call of duty on that day and we remember the families whose grief has resurfaced with the memories of their lost loved ones.
“We also remember our brave soldiers who have fought to keep our country safe from attacks for seven years. We must know that backing away from this challenge will not make evil go away. We must continue to support our soldiers as they do a very tough job and pray for our nation as it continues to heal.”
