Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN, Texas – (BELTON, Texas) — Today Congressman John Carter (R-TX31), Chairman of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, met with faith and business leaders from his district and heard their support for broad immigration reform.
In the meeting and a press conference that followed, Chairman Carter spoke about his work with the House Group of 7, which has been working on an immigration reform bill.
The event builds on the momentum of Bibles, Badges and Business for Immigration Reform network leaders who have been gathering across the country to show their members of Congress that they and their constituencies will support courageous lawmakers who act on broad immigration reform that acknowledges the dignity of each person, respects the rule of law and addresses the needs of the American economy.
