Texas Insider Report: WASHINTON D.C. U.S. Representative Chet Edwards was in Austin Sunday August 22nd to address the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS) Conference. Edwards subcommittee is credited with approving the largest single appropriation for Guard and Reserve military construction since at least 1964.
The National Guard Bureau selected Edwards to receive its 2010 Minuteman Award for his work to spearhead the new initiative in Congress to modernize Guard and Reserve facilities as Chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee.
