Fighting the #1 disease killer of American children

Michael-Mccaul12Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON, D.C. – “For thousands of children with cancer and their families, the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act will have a real world impact on their lives and their futures,” said Cong. Michael McCaul (R-TX), the founder and co-chair of the Childhood Cancer Caucus <http://childhoodcancer-mccaul.house.gov/> , applauding passage of H.R. 2019, the Gabriella Miller Kids First Research Act <http://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-bill/2019?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22hr+2019%22%5D%7D>  which will authorize millions in new funding for pediatric disease at the National Institutes of Health.

“Childhood cancer is the number one disease killer of American children, yet it currently receives just 4% of the federal government’s overall cancer research funding. This bill will directly benefit those patients and thousands of other children with pediatric diseases and disorders,” McCaul said.

“Passage of this bill sends a clear message to the nation and the families affected by pediatric cancer that they are a top priority in Congress,” said McCaul.
