Comptroller Combs Distributes $535 Million in Monthly Sales Tax Revenue to Local Governments

width=71Texas Insider Report: AUSTIN Texas  Sales tax revenue has increased for 27 consecutive months in Texas" said Texas Comptroller Susan Combs announcing Wednesday that state sales tax revenue in June was $1.98 billion up 15.2 compared to June 2011.  Strong business spending in industries such as manufacturing and oil and natural gas boosted the latest sales tax collections.  Revenue from consumer spending in the retail trade and restaurant sectors also did well." Combs will send July local sales tax allocations totaling $534.6 million to cities counties transit systems and special purpose taxing districts. July sales tax allocations are up 12.7 compared to July 2011.
