Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis) released the following statements after the House passed H.R. 5471 the Counter Terrorist Radicalization Act.
Following the terror attacks in Orlando last weekend we faced a moral imperative to act. The Countering Terrorist Radicalization Act works to prevent terrorists from operating in our communities. This is only a first step. Those who threaten and attack our homeland should know that they have only strengthened our resolve and we will not hesitate to take the fight to them wherever they are."
H.R. 5471 consists of three previously passed bipartisan bills. Together these bills counter terrorist recruitment activities and allow greater coordination within the Department of Homeland Security that will help spot radicalization in our communities and ensure intelligence integration.
