From an increase in violence along the border to trade and economic interests the relationship is complicated but vital to both countries said Congressman Francisco Quico" Canseco (TX-23) whose district includes some 800 miles of U.S.-Mexico border following a meeting between Hispanic Congressional Members & Mexican President Felipe Caldern.

Because the 23rd Congressional District of Texas shares nearly 800 miles of border with Mexico I am pleased to have had the opportunity to participate in todays meeting with President Caldern stressing the importance to both our nations of working together to resolve the violence in Mexico that is spilling over the border into the United States and the importance of the trade relationship between our two nations Canseco said.
I look forward to working with House leadership as well as our partners in Mexico as we work to address mutually

significant issues that our countries face" concluded Canseco.
President Caldern is in the midst of a working tour within the United States and today he is in Washington meeting with Members of Congress to discuss maintaining and strengthening relations as well as business and trade issues.
