Texas Insider Report: WASHINGTON D.C. Representative Gene Green (TX-29) released the following statement on the deaths in Baton Rouge Minnesota and Dallas.
My thoughts and prayers are with the families and the communities who mourn today.
The tragic deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile of five Dallas police officers and the seven others who were injured during an otherwise peaceful protest speak to the need for communities across America to open a dialogue about how we can work together to keep our neighborhoods safe. The answer to these recent tragedies is not more violence or to cast blame and hatred against police or against a community that seeks answers but instead to listen to one another. Our hearts break for these families and I pray for justice.
